Editorial Ethics

Editorial Ethics - te-media

We pride ourselves to publish unbiased content on all our projects and websites, but our publications will not lack a fair amount of criticism where we see it necessary..

We at te-media respect our readers’ and clients' trust and the values and responsibilities of our profession and follow strict guidelines to maintain this trust. Our editors and freelancers will do nothing dishonest or illegal to get or alter content. We will not use the content, photos or illustrations of another person or publication without attribution. We do not fabricate quotes, sources or information and then represent them as fact. We do not alter or manipulate photographs beyond minimal adjustments for optimizing their publication or stage news photographs for any of our contents.

Paid content (or advertising) will always be marked clearly and not published in any way, that it might be confused with other articles and news. To advertise on one of our projects and websites, please look at this information.

Any personal opinions by our editors that could cause readers to question the credibility of te-media should not be expressed without a clear indication within the content as a quote or similar. Exception is the content that is posted in special sections or blogs that are based on the personal interpretation and opinion of the publishing editor that might be controversial to some readers.

Any perceived cloak of anonymity associated with usernames can be easily pierced. Information posted on our projects and websites under any name can be traced to its originator (Please have a look at our "Terms & Conditions", "Privacy Information" and "Discussion & Submission Guidelines").

Even in our private lives, the ownership of te-media and its editors refrain from participating in activities that could compromise our integrity or damage our credibility. Personal opinions about social issues should remain personal.

Our primary goal when creating content is to tell the truth accurately and precisely while exhausting all sources available to investigate as thoroughly as possible before publishing.

You as the reader have a right to know where the information on our projects and websites comes from. The use of information and quotes obtained from unnamed sources can erode the confidence of readers and endanger the credibility of our publication. For that reason, we use unnamed sources sparingly. We will indicate copyrights and origin of source on published content (where applicable). You can find more information about this in our “Copyright Information”.

We have established these best practices to remind us of our responsibilities to our readers, clients and our profession. We are mindful that our actions not only reflect on us personally, but on our projects and websites as well. We hold ourselves accountable and may find ourselves in the awkward position of questioning ourselves on any content that is being published under our name (or alias). Concerns about breaches of these guidelines should be brought to to our attention right away through our Contact Form.
